SLIDING SCALE PRICING
In an effort to make nutritious, local food available to as many New Yorkers as possible, The 607 CSA is offering sliding-scale payment for all shares. This year, LEVEL 3 is our regular priced share. We trust you to assess your own situation and decide where your household falls on the scale. Know that if you are able to pay more, you will be helping to provide access to other members of the community who are paying less. We also offer a weekly or bi-weekly payment plan for regular priced shares.
The income calculator is a reference (and doesn’t take personal wealth into account). Please do whatever works best for you and your circumstances. All of these options are intended to make The 607 CSA as flexible and empowering as possible for all of our members!
LEVEL 1 (25% discount on published price)
Reasons to choose Level 1 might include: Medical expenses (partially covered or not covered by insurance), chronic illness (prohibits you from your potential earning powers), significant debt (including student loans), immigration fees, rehabilitation fees, receipt of government assistance, the cost of living in New York!!, etc
LEVEL 2 (18% discount on published price)
Level 2 pays for the market value of the veggies but nothing else (e.g. the farmers’ labor, our packaging materials, or trucking). Reasons to select this level might include minor financial hardships or a decision to donate separately to Catskill Agrarian Alliance’s mutual aid work.
LEVEL 3 (10% discount on published price)
Level 3 is our “regular priced” share.
LEVEL 4 (no discount on published price)
Reasons to choose Level 4 might include: Part-time work by choice, recreational travel, inherited money and access to family money in time of need (family wealth), investments (stocks, bonds), higher education, etc.

To Help Determine Your Tier:
We didn’t invent this model. Many CSAs are shifting to a solidarity economy. In particular, we would like to thank our friends at Soul Fire Farm, Rock Steady Farm, Zenger Farm , and Brooklyn Grange for their inspiration and guidance in implementing this version of a sliding scale model.
