Our golden fl­axseed oil is cold pressed on our Catskill farm in small batches. We grow golden ­flax because the oil has a pleasant, nutty-buttery fl­avor.

Golden ­flax also has a higher level of omega-3 essential fatty acid at a higher percentage than the brown fl­ax. Golden ­flax seed has a hull that is easier to press and looks lovely in a dressing or when mixed into your favorite recipes.

Flaxseed oil contains a type of omega-3 fatty acid called alpha-linolenic acid (ALA). The body uses ALA from ­flaxseed oil and converts it in small amounts to other fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids are vital to a person’s physical and mental health.

Flaxseed oil is a good substitute for fish oil if you want to add plant-based omega-3 fatty acids to your diet.
